An areola tattoo effectively generates a new areola and nipple. There is one very important reason the procedure is done: to assist breast cancer survivors be comfortable with their bodies post-surgery. Many cancer survivors have breast reconstruction surgery (or a double mastectomy if both breasts are afflicted). Areola tattoos are a terrific method to help women design the bodies they desire, increase self-confidence and help feel natural. It’s also a terrific option to nipple restoration surgery for individuals who want something a bit quicker and easier.
It’s vital to know that areola tattoos aren’t simply for breast reconstruction surgery survivors who have had their areola impacted. If you underwent surgery that left your nipple intact, you may have scarring or an areola with an abnormal form. This also applies to subcutaneous mastectomy, top surgery, and masculinizing chest surgery. These abnormalities can be easily corrected by tattooing over them to level out the form, size, and color of the nipple.
